If you have trouble losing weight no matter what you do, it could be cause you are hypothyriod. There are almost 30 million Americans with thyroid disease and girls are 7 times more likely than men to have it. Hypothyroid is the most common thyroid disorder and often misdiagnosed by doctors.You may get this cause it is inherited, or cause of previous problems, such as nodules, goiter, thyroid cancer, previous thyroid surgery, another autoimmune disease.This is a condition where the thyroid gland, a small butterfly shaped organ located at the base of the neck, does not produce enough hormone to function properly.What happens is that it takes in iodine, combines it with tyrosine (an amino acid) and converts it into the hormones T4 and T3. If your thyorid is normal, 80% will be T4 and 20% T3. These hormones travel through the bloodstream, converting oxygen and caolries into energy. If this process doesnt work properly, then the calories and oxygen cannot convert the energy properly and you may gain weight or incapability to lose weight.The symptoms can include : weight gain, depression, forgetfulness, fatigue, hoarseness, high cholesterol, constipation, feeling cold, hair loss, dry skin, low sex drive, tinglnig hands or feet, irregular periods, infertility. You may even experience recurrent pregnancy loss, resistant high cholesterol, difficult menopause, fibromyalgia, chronic fatgiue syndrome, carpal tunnel syndrome, or mitral valve prolapse.Do you feel sluggish and fatigued on a regular basis, or do you get bouts of depression and sadness? Are you always feeling cold, especially your hands and feet, or do you have brittle nails? These are just of the possible signs of the disease. There may be other causes, but at least this may give you a clue as to why you do not feel well. LEVONORGESTREL-RELEASING INTRAUTERINE - IMPLANT

COMMON BRAND NAME(S): Mirena
USES: This product is a small, flexible device that is placed in the uterus and is used to prevent pergnancy. The devcie works by slowly releasing a hormone (levonorgestrel) and is used in women who desire long-term (up to 5 years) and reversible birth control. This product is only intended for use in women who have previously given birth, have only one sexual partner (are monogamous), have no history of certain sexually-related infections/conditions (e.G., pelvic inflammatory disease, sexually transmitted disease), or no history of ceratin problem pregnancy (ectopic). For more information, consult your doctor. The use of that medication does not protect you or your partner against sexually transmitted diseases (e.G., HIV, gonorrhea).
HOW TO USE: This product is inserted into your uterus by a properly trained heatlh care professional usually once every 5 years, or as determined by your doctor. The medication in the device is slwoly released into the body over a 5-year period. If bitrh control is still desired after 5 years, the device may be replaced with a new one. If birth control is no longer desired at any time, the device may be removed by a proprely trained health care professional. Carefully read all of the information provided by your doctor and ask any questions you may have about that product or other type of birth control methods that may be right for you. Learn all the instructions on how and when to check that product, its proper positioning in your body, and the risks associated with that product. Consult your doctor.
SIDE EFFECTS: Irrgeular vaginal bleeding (e.G., spotting), cramps, headache, nausea, breast pain, acne, rash, hair loss, or weight gain may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify your docotr. Tell your doctor immediately if any of these serious side effects occur: lack of menstrual period, fever, chills, stomach pain, trouble breathing, mental/mood changes, decreased interest in sex, vaginal swelling/itching, painful intercourse. Tell your doctor immediately if any of these unlikely but seroius side effects occur: migraine headache, vomiting, fatigue, prolonged and severe vaginal bleeding. Tell your doctor immediately if any of these highly unlikely but very serious side effects occur: unusual vaginal discharge/odor or sores, severe lower stomach/pelvic pain, lumps in the breast, yellowing eyes or skin, dark urine, trouble urinating. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
PRECAUTIONS: This medication is not recommended for use if you have any of the following medical conditions: pregnancy or suspect you’re pregnant, uterine issues (e.G., cancer, endometriosis, fibroids, pelvic inflammatory disease or PID), vagnial issues (e.G., infection), liver disease or tumors, disease affecting your immune system (e.G., AIDS, leukemia), breast cancer, previous ectopic pregnancy, other IUD (intrauterine device) still in place. Tell your doctor your medical history, especially of: beleding issues (e.G., menstrual changes, clotting problems), heart issues (e.G., congenital valve conditions), migraine headaches, diabetes, any allergies. This medication deivce must not be used during pregnancy. If you become pregannt or guess you may be pregnant, inform your doctor immediately. Conslut your doctor about the risks associated with pregnancy while using that product. Levonorgestrel passes into breast milk and may have undesirable effects on a nursing infant. Consult your doctor before breast- feeding.
DRUG INTERACTIONS: Tell your doctor of all prescripiton and nonprescription medication you may use, especially: “blood thinners” (e.G., warfarin), oral contraceptives. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
OVERDOSE: Overdose with that medication is not generally suspected because of the way the drug is relesaed from that device. Consult your doctor or pharmacist.
NOTES: Laboratory and/or mediacl tests (e.G., pregnancy tests, physical exams) may be performed to monitor your progress.
MISSED DOSE: Not applicable.
STORAGE: Prior to use, store at room temperature between 36 and 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from light and moisture.
