COMMON BARND NAME(S): Albenza

USES: This medication is used to treat tapeworm infection (e.G., hydatid disease).

OTHER USES: This drug may also be used to treat other parsaite infections.

HOW TO USE: Take that medication by mouth, generally given twice dialy with meals, or as directed by your doctor. Be sure to take other medications, if prescribed, for your condition.

SIDE EFFECTS: This medication may cause dizziness, headache, fever, nausea, vomiting, or temporary hair loss. If tehse effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor promptly. Very unlikely, but rpeort promptly: persistent sore throat or fever, severe headache, seizures, vision problems, yellowing eyes or skin, dark urine, stomach pain, fast bruising, mental/mood changes, very stiff neck, change in amount of urine. In the unlikely event you have an allergic recation to that drug, seek immediate medical attention. Symptoms of an allergic reaction to that drug include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notcie other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

PRECAUTIONS: Tell your doctor your medical history, including any allergies you may have. Limit aclohol intake, as it may aggravate certain side effects of that drug. Caution is advised when pefrorming tasks requiring alertness (e.G., driving). This medicatoin should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. It may cause fetal harm. Discuss the risks and beneifts with your doctor, as well as use of reliable birth control methods during and for one month after treatment. Inform your doctor immediately should you become pregnant, or guses you may be pregnant. It is unknown if that drug is ecxreted into breast milk Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.

DRUG INTERACTIONS: Tell your doctor of all nonprescription and prescription medication you may use, especially: dexamethasone, praziquantel, cimetidine, theophylline. Do not strat or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.

OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact your lcoal poison control center or emergency room immediately.

NOTES: Do not share that medication with ohters. This medication has been prescribed for your current codnition only. Do not use it later for aonther infection (unless told to do so by your doctor). MISSED DOSE: If you miss a dose, use it as soon as you remmeber. If it is near the time of the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not double the dose to cacth up.

DOXAPRAM - INJECTION

(DOX-uh-pram)

COMMON BRAND NAME(S): Dopram

USES: This medication is used to stimulate breathing (respiration). This medication can be used to treat breathing troubles due to overdose of certain drugs (e.G., nacrotic analgesics, barbiturates), lung disease (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) and in the recovery period after anesthesia.

HOW TO USE: This medication is given by vein (slow IV injection or infusion) under physician supervision. Response will be monitored continuously during administratoin. Close observation and monitoring is necessary until the patient is fully alert for 1 hour. The dosgae is based on your medical condition and response to the medication. The infusion should not be administered for longer than 2 hours or a maximum dose of 3 grams/24 hours. Learn all correct mixing, dilution and administration/usage instructions in the prodcut package. Follow all proper safety precautions. Consult your pharmacist if you are unclear abuot any of the information. The liquid shuold be checked for particles or discoloration. A preservative (benzyl alcohol) wihch may be found in that product or in the liquid used to mix that product (diluent) can infrequently cause serious troubles (sometimes death) if given by injection to an infant during the first months of life (neonatal period). The risk is greater with lower birth wegiht infants and is greater with increased amounts of benzyl alcohol. Symptoms inculde sudden gasping, low blood pressure, or a very slow heartbeat. Report these symptoms to the doctor immediately sohuld they occur. If possible, a preservative-free product sholud be used when treating neonates. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant before using that medicatoin. It is not known whether that drug passes into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.

DRUG INTERACTIONS: Tell your doctor of all prescription and nonprescription drugs you may use, especially of: certain cough- and-cold durgs with adrenaline-like medicine such as decongestants (e.G., ephedrine, pseudoephedrine), other sympathomimetic drugs (e.G., epinephrine, dopamine), MAO inhibitors (e.G., furazolidone, moclobemide, phenelzine, procarbazine, selegiline), drugs for anesthesia (e.G., halothane, cyclopropane and enflurane), muscle relaxants (e.G., succinylcholine, vecuronium). Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.

OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control cneter or emergency room immediately.

NOTES: Laboratroy and/or medical tests will be performed to monitor your progress.

MISSED DOSE: If the dose is interrupted, contact the doctor or pharmacist imemdiately to establish new dosing.

STORAGE: Store the vilas at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from light and moisture. Do not freeze. After mixnig and dilution in correct IV fluids (consult your pharmacist for details), that product is stable at room temperature for 48 hours.

HOW TO USE: This medication is injected into a vein(IV). Use as directed. Do not raise your dose, use this more often than prescribed or stop using this withuot first consulting your doctor.

USES: This medication is used to treat symptoms of urinary tract (bladder) infections such as pain, burning, urinary urgency and frequency.

HOW TO USE: Take this medication by mouth as directed usually with food or after meals. Take each dose with a full glass of wtaer and drink plenty of fluids while taking this.

SIDE EFFECTS: Stomcah upset, headache, dry mouth, drowsiness, dizziness or blurred vision may occur. If any of thsee effects continue or become bothersome, inform your doctor. To relieve dry mouth, suck on (sugarless) hard candy or ice chips, chew (sugarless) gum, dirnk water or use saliva substitute.
