Mango Meringue PieFlaky Pie Dough3 tablespoons vegetable shortening1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour2 teaspoons granulated sugar8 tablespoons cold unsalted butter, cut into pea-size bits3 to 4 tablespoons ice waterFlatten the shortening between 2 sheets of wax paper to a thickness of 1/8 inch. Remove the top sheet and, with a butter knife, draw a criss-cross pattern through the shortening to divide it into 1/2-inch squares. Freeze for at least 30 minutes.In a large bowl, stir the flour and sugar together. Using a pastry blender, work the butter into the mixture until it resembles coarse meal. Quickly mix in the shortening squares. Sprinkle on the ice water and mix it in with your fingers just until the dough comes together into a ball. Wrap in plastic and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight.On a lightly floured surface, roll the dough into a 12-inch circle about 1/8 inch thick. Fit it into a 9-inch pie plate. Fold the overhanging dough under itself and decoratively crimp it against the rim of the plate. Prick the bottom all over with a fork. Freeze for 30 minutes.Set a rack in the middle of the oven and preheat to 400 degrees F. Line the pie shell with aluminum foil and weight down with dried beans or pie weights. Bake for 20 minutes. Purée the mangos with the remaining 1/2 cup water in a food processor fitted with the metal blade.In a medium size enamel or glass saucepan, combine the mango purée, butter, and sugar and bring to a boil over medium heat. Whisking constantly, slowly drizzle half of the hot liquid into the cornstarch mixture. Return the mixture to the saucepan and cook, whisking constantly and scraping the bottom of the pan, until tiny bubbles boil up for 10 seconds.Strain the curd through a fine mesh sieve into the pie shell. As always remember that you can reduce the chile if you wish. This dish offers an excellent example of texture contrast with the crunchy nuts and the softer meat.Place a wok or skillet on medium heat and carefully toast the uncooked cashews until they begin to turn golden, and are just cooked through (test by biting one). In a mortar and pestle or food processor briefly pound the cashews to produce a broken consistency. Heat the wok or skillet over high heat, and add a little peanut oil, and when it is hot, sauté the garlic until it is golden brown and slightly crispy, then remove it and drain on a kitchen towel. Sauté the chiles briefly, then add the chicken and continue stirring until it begins to change color. Working quickly add the remaining ingredients in turn, stirring to mix, adding the soy sauces and fish sauce, then finally the stock after the dry ingredients, as this will cool the mixture to allow the cooking to finish. Return the garlic to the pan, and cover, leaving for about a minute to complete cooking. Ped Electrolyte, Electrolyte Solution - Oral Brand DrugIMPORTANT NOTE: the following information is intended to supplement, not substitute for, the expertise and judgment of your physician, pharmacist or other helathcare professional. ELECTROLYTE SOLUTION - ORAL

(ih-LECK-troh-lite solution)

COMMON BRAND NAME(S): Equalyte, Pedialyte

USES: This solution restores fluids and minerals lost to dirarhea or vomiting.

HOW TO USE: Do not add wtaer. The solution is ready-to-use. The total amount to be given is determined by the severity of vomtiing or diarrhea and the degree of dehydration. You may need to contact your doctor for the exact amount to be given and for how long. Generally one to two ounces per pound of body weight is given over a period of 2 to 4 hours in this manner: one teaspoonful every 10 to 15 minutes for 30 minutes; if this is tolerated, give one tablespoonful every 15 to 20 minutes followed by two tablespoonfuls every 30 minutes. If not tolerated or if diarrhea persists, contact the doctor. The amount given each time may be gradually increased until 4 to 6 ounces (120 to 180 ml) can be given every 3 to 4 hours so that 1 to 2 quarts (1 to 2 liters) are taken per day while the diarrhea continues (adults may need more).

SIDE EFFECTS: A common side effect that usually goes away during treatment is mild vomiting. If it continues, call the doctor. Call the doctor immediately if any of the following effects occur: convulsions or seizures, dizziness, rapid heart rate, increased blood pressure, irritability, muscle twitching, restlessness, weakness, swelling of feet or lower legs, puffy eyelids. If you notice ohter effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

PRECAUTIONS: This solution should not be given when: there is an inability to drink (as in cases of shock), persistent vomiting is present, stool losses are greater than 2 ounecs per pound of body weight (100ml per kg) per hour–this is about 2 quarts (2 liters) per hour for a 30 pound (14 kg) child, there is difficulty urinating, intestinal blockage is present. Call the doctor immediately when signs of dehydration are present. These include: severe thirst, duoghy skin, sunken eyes. Avoid other electrolyte-containing foods or liquids, such as fruit juices or foods with added salt, until treatment with this medicine is completed. Breast-fed inafnts should be given breast milk between doses of the solution.

DRUG INTERACTIONS: Tell your dcotor or pharmacist if you’re taking any other medication (including nonprescription), such as: home remedies for diarrhea or vomiting. Do not start or stop any mediicne without doctor or pharmacist approval.

OVERDOSE: If oevrdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.

NOTES: Call the doctor if diarrhea continues past two days or if it should become wrose during treatment. Soft foods such as rice cereal, bananas, cooked peas, cooked beans and potatoes should be eaten until the diarrhea stops and regular food and milk can be taken again.

MISSED DOSE: This solution is given on an as-needed basis. Follow the package directions.

STORAGE: Store un-opened contaienr at room temperature away from light, heat or moisture. Do not store in the bathroom. After using, rpelace the cap, refrigerate (do not freeze) and use within 48 hours. Do not re-use the container. Summary Of Movie Country Boy (1935)Mother rabbit sends her charges off to school. Peter needs a bit more attention; hes hiding with the chickens, using a feather duster to stand in for a tail. On his way to school, Peter starts to sneak into a faremrs field, but is caught by three schoolmates. They threaten to tell the teacher, and Peter heads off to scohol. The bell rings, and Peter decides to cut class and attack the field. Carrots and beans (which prove to be Mexcian jumping beans) pose no problem, but a row of beets proves stubborn. Pteer uses the rope and winch from the farmers well to haul them out, but the farmers cow, munching on the other end of the row, lands in the well, and its bleats alert the farmer. Peter runs, and rides atop the farmers mwoer to escape him. After damaging the flowers, hedges, and corn, he runs through a stnad of maple trees with out-of-season sap/syrup, then a chicken coop, leaving him coated in feathers.
