Preists (healers) Bear Shaman, Priest of Mitra, Tempest of Set
1) AoE damage (some of the best in the game)
General Info on the Preist of Mitra: A more traditional healer. But make no mistake, still a unusual class to play. Because of the nature of the heals in AoC, you pay alot of attention to using your CC and dishing out damage, stopping occasionally to re-HoT everyone. The closest thing you get to a direct heal is a feated spell the Lance of Mitra which deals damage to enemies in its path, and heals allies in its path. That said, it is still the role of choice for those who liked healbots in traditional MMO’s. Yes you will have to relearn, but its great fun.
2) Crazy regen power (health, mana, and stamina)
General Tempest of Set Info: This is a great choice for healers who like to pump out damage. Lots of it. You can still heal, but your AoE give’s the ToS the highest DPS of the priest classes (and easily one of the highest in the game!). They had two distinct classes before, and decided to smash them together, keeping everything from both.
Why would I pass on this class?
1) Solid single target DPS (especially for a healer)
3) Medium armor on a healer (basically the 4th best armored class)
3) AoE + Healing (it needs to be said again…)
1) Loooooong Fights (you rocky balboa your fights)
Preist of Mitra
2) You don’t light lightning (its kinda all they do)
Tempest of set in PvE: They are one of the best solo PvE classes. Easy. They can take large mobs later in the game and blast them with powerful AoE, and heal through the mop-up. In groups, there’s nothing quite like you healer topping the DPS charts (figuratively, they dont have them in game yet) while still healing the team.
Thanks for reading.
Why would I pass on this class?
1) You like a more traditional healer (don’t laugh, I love being a healbot)
2) Tough early leveling (1-20 is physically painful)
Bear Shaman
2) Good Crowd Control (biggest CC toolkit in the game)
Why would I play this class?
Preist of Mitra in PvE: Not too much trouble really. All your CC options allow you to take on sizable mobs and heal yourself through it. In groups you are recognized (unofficially) as the best pure healer in the game so will not have any trouble finding a group.
I found a nice comprehensive thread for tempests by igkunow http://forums.ageofconan.com/showthread.php?t=54684
2) Healing (about as good as the other preists)
Well, that all the classes in Age of Conan. I hope this helps some folks that are having a difficult time choosing a class. My biggest problem when I started was no one said in general what the classes do.
3) Despite above you still like doing damage (seems nuts dot it?)
1) A little squishy (less CC and less armor)
Bear Shaman in PvE: You basically just have to get to 25. It is a hard class to get there, but after that the class begins to take shape. Solo (post 25) you shouldn’t have too much trouble taking moderate groups. In Group PvE, you bring alot to a team, DPS, Heals, and buffs in the form of Claw totems, Spirit totems, and Manifestations.

3) you have Yogiphobia (fear of smart bears)
Why would I play this class?
General Bear Shaman Info: The BS is a relatively new class type. A melee healer. Not only are you capable of DPSing, but many feats augment your healing when you do. If you enjoy the healbot preist type, this is not for you. If you want to have near limitless supplies of mana and stamina, along with health regen, and get right up in the face of your enemy, read no further.
Tempest of Set in PvP: Dangerous, but because they have less CC then the PoM and little armor, they are a smige less of a threat. If you get the drop on them. If they see you first, they can open up at range and hit you hard before you know what happened. In group PvP, they will rarely cluster up so you are diminished, but you can still hit two or three with AoE.
1) Not too high on the damage scale (relavite to the other preists)
3) You don’t like having it all (are you sure you play MMO’s)
Tempest of Set
I will try to make adjustment if you guys feel my remarks where waaaaay off, but in general I’m trying to comment on general playstle. So keep that in mind. I will also try to keep up with the changes if this thread doesn’t fall into purgatory.
Bear Shaman in PvP: Fair quite well. Some classes fear you as you just keep on comin, others will kite you to death. Overall, you prolong the fight and try to force them to make a mistake. age of conan gold Group PvP, I think a BS will allways be welcome for all the great stuff they bring to the table.
Preist of Mitra in PvP: Very scary. Though a priest doesn’t age of conan gold do the raw damage of other classes, you will rarely get the chance to actually do anything as all their CC keeps you fighting for 1/5 of the actual fight. That and the fact they can heal themselves means they make formidable PvPers. In group PvP, their role changes little. CC and keep up the health of you party.

2) You dont like to juggle lots of CC (can be intensive)
3) Terrible fatalities (one of my favorite things about this game)
